scuff plate recondition

Has any reconditioned there scuff plates (door sill covers)

mine are a bit rough to say the least and would be a nice project to clean the up!

I searched for a wright up but no joy so thought ad ask!

Yes, you can refresh them. About 8 years ago, I ended up cleaning mine and painting them black (except for the logo of course). Others were getting theirs polished.

yea i wanna sand them down to get rid of scuffs and chips etc then get a polishing tool of some sort fix them up nice just thought there may be a thread i miss showing people doin it in the pass.

I sanded mine down to get the scratches out, then used Mother's aluminum polish to shine them back up.
I think most folks use the polishing rouges -- but if you don't, the sanding and hand polishing
worked great for me.

1) Rubber mallet with a 2x4 to hammer out dings.

2) Lightly sand with 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

3) Polish or paint door sills to your liking...

It always annoyed me that they only came with gold lettering. With black and tan interiors, how did they formulate gold?

I think it annoyed me the most that they didn't make them in SS as my MX-6 comes stock with SS sills, I sourced a set of these for cheap so I'll most likely powder coating them black with gold letter.
