SBC-ID.. can only get 11 pnds of boost
Hey everyone , I just installed my PFC and was driving around getting my boost controller up to 12psi, but for some reason once it gets to 11 psi on the lowest setting I can attain that level with, no matter how much I turn it up, it wont go beyond this... am I just doing somthing wrong? my gain is like 15.
With the airpump I discconected it before I installed the PFC, so it learned the idle minus the extra air from the air pump. its idleing fine now. Just cant figure out my boost problem heh
Well now its weirder... today when I went into the secodnary I hit 1 bar of boost.. lucky me I didnt blow my motor..... but the weird thing is is that my primary still wotn go over 11.
So I have it set now for a boost pattern of
11-9-12 trails off to about 11.6 ( but its getting better, I think its the PFC still learning my WOT runs)
But does anyone know why I cant get my primary to 12? Is it just too old? it does have 86k miles on it.

What mode on the SBC are you using? If i recall there is like an auot and manual, or something along those lines.
If you want some real good answers, go to a 300Z forum, all those guys use the SBC's.

Don't use auto mode on the boost controller. It takes too long to spool up the turbos. In manual mode you have to set the boost pressure by adjusting the ratio (it goes from 0-100; so 11 on that ratio is not 11psi). On mine i have 10 psi set as 42 with the gain set at 26. The gain is how fast the wastegate opens. The higher the setting the faster it opens and the bigger the boost spike is. Make sure that you have read the instructions carefully and make sure that you set it for the proper wastegate configuration (its in the manual). Hope that helps a little.

See, I know how to use the boost controller. I understand how you adjust the wastegate speed and boost settings etc. Its not on automatic mode.
Regardless, Im pretty sure it was the powerFC still learning my car and not allowing me to boost that high because its slowley gettin better. I hit like 11.7 lasty night with the primary. So Im going to give it a few days and see how it goes.

I thought you had to do a good amount of WOT runs first to get rid of the waa waaa boost pattern....
Im quoting nocab on this one..
"Aftering changing boost parameters it usually took 4 - 6 good hard pulls to learn enough to stop what whaa-whaa-whaa, up/down/up/down boost curves, then got pretty solid after that. (it was also gear dependent, so pull 4 - 6 3rd gear, then 4 - 6 4th, then 4 - 6 5th -- 3k - 7k runs) "

Thats the thread I was quoting from..
Yeah Your right. I still have so much to learn with the PFC time to start hunting for original threads when the pfc was in the learning stages for everyone! ...
Still, I wonder why my boost is so erratic in primary but not my secondary. I always get a solid 12psi after the secondary engages. MY primary goes anywhere from 11.3-11.7. I wonder if age is starting to kick in. It does have 86k miles on it. What do you think rynberg?
