I think Damon found that O'Reillys had the solenoid for like $45 or so. Do a search on it.

I'd prefer to get a brand new one in there, especially at that price.

Thanks for the info guys. I ordered one from O'Reillys, I'll swap them out tomorrow and lets see if that solves my problem.

Wait.... I thought that the "click click no start" is comming from the bad connections though the ignition switch that is located where the steering wheel is.....
I have this problem too but I heard from the forums that the starter solenoid is not the cause.... or maybe it is ONE of the causes... well.... inform us!~~~

it can be bad connections aswell for the click click... on another note autozone does not stock rx8 starters so it would be a pre pay order thing so no dice on this one guys! one more thing i just thought of. someone just call up ray and ask him about it he'll know or he'll get stacy to grab two for him. i would call but im swapped this week for work.

I have the "click click" on another mazda and it drives me nuts. it's too bad that is starts up so well otherwise..

long story but i've had three starters in that car and it didn't makie a difference. I haven't put much effort into checking the ign wiring though.

The 'click click' symptom can be caused by worn contacts in the ignition and clutch switches. The resulting voltage drop is what causes the solenoid not to fully engage (click).

A bad ignition switch also affects the voltage at the fuel pump (yikes!).
