Rx8 spark plugs?

My mechanic said the rx8 plugs are better. He said this along time ago, i haven't talked to him for awhile.
Does anybody know why?
Do they come in heat range of 9's?

I plan on changing my all 4 plugs to 9's. Sould i go with the rx8 plugs?

Just stick to the fd ones. Just get platnuim 9's for all 4.

With your mods, all 9s would be fine. Or at least recommended.

Strange in that on the RX-8 forum, people were trying to use our plugs at one time. I'd just worry that the side electrode (arm looking thing) on the leading plug (rx-8 plug) might knick the apex seal if tightened to much so I'll stick with all 9's in mine. I use the copper ones as well since I change mine often.

I just installed 4 of the Rx8 spark plugs RE9 type and they are shorter than the fd spark plug so the electrode won't touch anything, the car start up fine and idle the same to me, I guess I will have to drive to see.

You can get the RX-8 plugs on sparkplugs.com for $20 a piece...otherwise its something like $50 each for the leadings and $30 each for the trailings from Mazdatrix or the dealer...

it might not matter. NGK's just went up in price this year. i think the standard BUR9EQ's are around 15.50 a plug now. a colder plug will prob run you even a little more than that
