I don't know if you're looking for something more complex, but when I switched out the rx7 **** with the rx8 it was just a screw off - screw on thing.

im sure i wrote up what i did when i was the first to do it, i just spliced it into the light for the ashtray.

You obviously need to cut off the plugs and separate the wires.

Im not familiar with the RX8 shift ****, however I cant imagine (what sounds like) such a small insignicant light blowing that fuse. I'd look into a pre-existing problem or an error in your wiring of it, particularly since others have done it the same and had no problems.

I agree....i think you have other issues. trace the wire and see if the insulation is cut somewhere and the bare wire exposed. This might be what caused your fuse to blow?

Paul, I'll post some pics.. I had a rough day at work yesterday and today.. I'm running on very little sleep right now..

anyhow, hope these pics help.

First, you would need to un-wrapped the lines off of the pointed part. And cut the lines. Make sure the clip has pretty of wires.

Once you have enough length, tape off the exposed wires on the main harness and using provided clips, connect it to the ash tray light sourse.. Like the pics below.

Word of advice.. Make sure you securely tie the wires the the shifter. over time, line will disconnect.

Hope this helps..

Due to exchange rate and not enough interest, I think they are 255-260 shipped to your door.

I've sold my last one to a rotary shop in FL..

Let me know if you are interested.. to canada might be slightly more..

Oh, also you could cut the shifter thread by .5 to 1 inch and will feel and look much better.

You would need to leave 4-5 full turns.
