Other than the engine popping common issue with every early 3rd gen, my following list of problems in the past 4 years has been:
1)Bad front sway bar link $35
2)Bad rear bushing $150 (with dealer replacing it)
3)Cracked rubber Turbo Y-pipe hose (replaced with metal one efeini y-pipe $300)
4)Blown 5th gear Syncro (warranty replacement but is a $500 job)
5)Clutch worn ($500+ job)
6)Ast Popped (replaced with metal one $150)
7)Clogged precat (replaced with downpipe $150)
8)Worn real toe-link (replaced with solid bushing kit $350)

So far so good.

within 2 months of buying my FD, I lost the engine and clutch. So here's my advice:

Know how to drive.
Have a lot of cash saved - just in case.

Oh I forgot to mention, I LOVE my FD
Everytime I drive it, it's like Love all over again. It always feels like the day I took it out of the dealer, but faster

I love the FD inside out. Very few cars can please you athestically, ergonomically, and performance wise. The FD, IMO, does it all. It has its little quirks, but the engineers did a good job in making sure you forget about them when you drive the FD

If you like working on cars, and enjoy real performance, get an FD. In life, everything you really love and care about gives you a headache at times. Same goes for this.

Speaking of ergonomics....

...Why the hell does the FD NOT COME with TILT STEERING?? I mean, was it like a 10 dollar party they couldn't deal with??

For the money that you pay for an FD, and the performance, styling, attention, and love that you feel for the FD it is definately worth it. Look I just paid 9k for mine with everything on it that is in my sig. It had bad coolant seals, so I rebuilt it with a port job. So for 12k I have a car that is reliable, has the best lines of any other car, everyone stares at it, and most importantly I get excited everytime I even think about driving it. And oh yeah, it would have taken a lot of money to get a prelude near an even stock FD, much less one with only a downpipe, exhaust etc. It is up to you, but I would say go for it. Here is what I got for 12k, and that includes a new motor with a port job
