iirc, an australian FD is just over 1300kg (maybe around the 1320 mark) and only make 235 or so hp.

the _average_ JDM FD has 255hp and 1260kg

I've read on internet sites that the japanese imports have 280hp stock? Is that correct?

no only the 99spec and above have that becuase of the larger turbo's 93-95 usdm fd's are the same as 93-98 jdm fd's, just with nicer badges

The '99-spec turbos aren't "larger"; they're actually smaller for better response. An increase in boost level is the main reason for the higher claimed horsepower number.
