Unhappy RX7 R1 Stalles

I just purchased this 93 R1 and I have been having trouble with it stalling occasionally. Nothing consistant. Stalls a fast stops or idles at traffic lights. As well every time the A/C is turned on.

What is the problem. No Mods on the car except boost guage and air intake. Is my ECU bad? There are so many sensors.

Boost doesn't seem to get any higher than 7 psi as well and rus about 15 vaccume is this low?

tdungey,

Where are you located in Missouri?

As for the problem, it sounds like it could be the clutch switch. At what RPM does your car idle?

Also for the boost, you might check the vacuum lines that are suppose to contain the boost pills. If the pills have been removed, then you'll only see 7 PSI on boost. It's possible the person you bought the car from had an aftermarket boost controller and sold it (or gave it) to someone else prior to selling the car. In which case they might have not replaced the boost pills.

I think it idels at 800. I had it checked they reset a sensor and it did nothing. But it stalls when the A/C is turned on. I am in Lees Summit.

Yep, check the following thread:

Here's a message from it:

For what it's worth, my car would stall every time the AC was on and it was in gear. If I would put it in N right as I pushed in the clutch, it would always drop to idle just fine. Replaced the clutch switch (which is right on the clutch pedal and takes less than 2 minutes to swap) for less than $10 and the problem's gone. If you have a PFC, the sensor screen will confirm that the switch doesn't work.
There are a few FD owners including myself up north. Shoot me a PM if you need any help.

I have almost exactly the same problem. I have a 94 AT and at low rpm before dead stop and go again, the engine stalles. I notice when I press the brakes at low rpm's 1,500rpm to 800rpm the rpm drop's to zero and car shuts off. This problem gets worst when I have the a/c on.

my car had low idle/occasional stalling problem when a/c was on. it took me forever to figure out what was causing it, but it turned out to be a bad clutch switch(located just above clutch pedal arm). don't ask me why a bad clutch switch has anything to do with a/c, though... i took the old switch apart and found that the spring in the switch had hardened. i just replaced the spring with a spring from a ball-point pen to fix the switch. with a functional clutch switch, idle with a/c on was back to normal.
