RX7 price drop after the Rx8?

Maybe this is a bad place to ask it because most of you own RX7's but do you the value of the RX7 will drop after the new RX8 comes out? Any of you plan on selling the 7 to get an 8? Is the rotary in the 8 a lot more stable? just a couple of questions i had....

I think the price of RX-7s are pretty low as it is (they should run about 10-12k used) which, even with a engine swap/rebuild is cheaper then a new civic. Any cheaper and they will be giving them away!
In anycase I would never sell my seven for a RX-8.

Personnaly, I think a RX-7 is a true sports car while a RX-8 is more of a people mover.

The only way the rx-7 price would drop is if another generation of RX-7 came out or if they brought the FD back. The RX-8 is a completely different car.

10-12K is a bit low IMO. My R1 was 15K with 53K miles all original and in excellent shape. I'd say that was a completely fair price for both parties.

This seems more like a Lounge thread, but I agree with Johnsrx7.

I would imagine we could possibly see some prices go up after the RX-8, when people finally realize that the RX-8 is NOT an RX-7.

I think a lot of people have the concept that the RX-8 is a new RX-7.

Smack em. After all....8 is a totally different number from 7 .

By the way, the best comparison that I can put with this is the 911 Turbos. When the 993 Turbo came out, the price of the 930s went up, and if you notice, the prices of the 993 turbos are VERY stable after the 996 turbos came out. Not everyone likes the new stuff that comes out, and that leaves those people with no choice but to hunt for it's pervious version. I for one HATE the 996 turbo, and would NOT mind at all paying the same amount of money for a 993 Turbo.

Remember that each car, even the same models of different years, will ALWAYS feel different. Even if a new 7 comes out and handles JUST as good as the FD, it WILL feel different. Some won't like that, and will pay top dollar for an FD
