"overhating" is when you wear too many hats at once. Common problem.

Solve the problem before you blow the engine coolant seals. Then you're really got a big problem in rebuilding it.

One once of prevention is better than a ton of cures.

Cool

Sounds like the coolant is being directed to the overflow tank? In that case, then yes it is overheating. You should NOT drive it too far or else you will have much bigger problems!

Could be a host of problems, but you need to give us more information. Like is the termostat working or the right type? Has the coolant recently been changed, may have air pockets that need "burping"?

Are there coolant leaks? Is it a recent engine rebuild, I had to replace (again) a rebuilt engine because of bad workmanship. The front plate bearing was not locked in place and started grinding away.

Give us a history leading to your current problem....sorry man....can't be of much help if you don't help us out.
