Rx7 Noob...

So I'm new to the Rx7 world, and for that matter, new to the whole mechanic world too. I don't know much about cars, so I'm posting today to try and get a good guide, or some help.
While I'm not very proficient with cars, I learn quick, and the Rx7 is the type of car that needs frequent love, so I'll have to learn VERY quick!
I bought my Rx7 a week or two ago for a good deal, but it needs some work done on it. So when something goes wrong on it, I've been trying to google the symptoms, and from there, decide what I think is wrong and fix it. But when one thing is wrong, those symptoms could mean many different things. So I'm having trouble figuring out what is wrong, and don't want to waste money replacing things that may be working just fine. While I could take it in to a shop, I haven't heard very good things about the shops here on Okinawa, so I would rather try to figure it out myself, unless I find the problem is something I can't possibly fix.
Sorry for the huge intro, I'll get to the point. So what I need is a guide or somewhere that explains the Rx7 in great detail, for someone that hasn't been working on cars all their life. Such as locations with detailed pics, and instructions for the fix. Also, things that are a must to replace with mods, and how to install them. Pretty much an Rx7 for Dummies.
While of course some people will probably flame me for posting this, and tell me it's my fault for buying such a complex car. But I figure this is a great opportunity for me, and I love the car with a passion. So try and help me out instead of talk ****.

The search function at the top of the page is also really helpful. Good luck with the car.

I respect when new people come on and are open and honest about their abilities and what they know or don't know, and clearly state a desire to learn more.

Welcome, Shadowx775. You'll find lots of good information here, and some pretty knowledgeable people (along with a few *********!).

Welcome. And congratulations on your new to you car!! You will love driving your RX7. Like mentioned above learn how to use the search function well and you will most likely find the answer to any question you may have.

We have the luxury of having access to the factory service manual and factory electrical manuals. They are invaluable and you will need/use them on many occasions.
Here is a link to them. Post #10 is the money post. They are formatted in searchable PDF.

dmoney, does it really matter?
Welcome new guy, I was in your position 2 years ago, best of luck, and as previously stated, the FSM, FAQ and search function are your keys to success. If you can't find something, post up, someone will point you in the right direction (but make sure you check the FAQ and search first!)

few good pointers:

1) Do not rely on this car as your primary means of transportation. Think of it as a hobby instead of a means of getting around.
2) Do not put a single mod on the car (cupholder is ok) until you understand what you are doing. this is the biggest error I see new owners make with them, quickly followed by saying how bad rotaries are when they blow up their car. Make sure the car works as intended before spending 10k on aftermarket parts only to blow it up and have no cash to fix it.
3) Read, as others have said, then do. If you don't have any experience turning a wrench this car can be a handful.

I really appreciate the tips and links. I think I'm really going to enjoy working on this car, but of course, if I don't know about something, I'll make sure to follow other peoples advice and their failures to make sure it doesn't happen to me!

I'm not going to reply to posts that weren't to give advice, because that will just fuel the flamers, and that isn't the reason I made this post.

Again, thanks for the help!

No.

The new members section is for those who want to be able to ask any question at any time without getting flak from others.

New members may post in any section except classifieds including this one. We just don't police the response as tightly outside of the new members section.

IMHO.
