So I checked out the jacket and couldn't find any "officially licensed" markings. I did find a tag in the pocket that says that Beyond Leather products are made by Kangaroo Industries (registered BL trademark in 1992 and went under in 1999). The price was marked as $400, on sale for $280. That's a lot of cheddar.

It's funny that even in the commercial, he had his collar popped.. LOL

(And it appears that the only way to see "RX7" on the jacket is to have the collar popped..)

MSRP for a TII in 1988 was about $24k, which is about $42K in inflation-adjusted dollars.

You can can but a hell of a lot of car for $42k today. Think Evo MR, STi, 335i etc.
