Question RX7 Importing ...

I was thinking about purchasing a Mazda RX7 and was thinking about possibly getting one straight from Japan, but didn't know if for 1 I could own a right hand side drive car here in the US and also I wanted to know if anyone knew if the Japanese RX7 would pass US emissions tests? ..If anyone can help me that'd be great. Also if anyone has any ideas as to how to get one over here if it won't pass all the tests to do it, then please let me know. Thanks ...

Can you afford to import an R34 Skyline?

Don't bother, it's not worth the time or effort. And if, IF, you did manage to get one into the country, it would either be registered illegally or possibly crushed. Not even us Military guys can bring them back with us.

It's not worth the effort to drive around looking like a mailman who missed the auditions for FntF4..

You do realize a JDM FD is the same thing as a USDM version. I actually think it is worse because the downpipe and turbos are in the way of the steering assembly. Just buy a US FD.

as far as i know, there is only one legal way to do it and thats to bring it to a conversion shop somewhere that has done the crash testing or will do it for you or so on and so forth. Basicly, DONT.

if you have that bad of a RHD fetish, do what some people have done, RHD convert a US version. OR RHD convert a Subaru, they're fairly easy to convert.

I know some states seem to allow RHD cars to be registered without conversions and such, mostly southern states, Tennessee, i know is one. Then transfer the title but, still, thats a lot of work... and. meh, dont think its worth it.
