Then why didnt you...go mess up a ws6. Theres plenty of them. Stay away from cars that take knowledge to deal with.

for $12,500 you get a beat up FD, yup. I got my '94 in mint condition from an older gentleman who obviously took great care of it. Was stock when I got it and I paid just over $20k, but it was sooo worth it to me.

just take a deep breath -
You paid $12,500, which is on the low side, which is fine, but you just need to put a little money and time into it. Figure you would have spent $20K on the WS6, so.....
First off, buy a maintenance manual from mazda for $100. (or check ebay) - then, make a list of everything thats wrong. Everything can be fixed, don't worry about. In the process, you'll learn a lot about the car and be better for it. Stuff like the pax door handle breaking is fairly common - mine broke, for example, but took about 45 minutes and $10 to fix. anyway, read this forum a lot, as there is lots of great info out there.
where are you in ten.?

Exclamation

You should have done some research. 7+ year old car and you expect it to be as good as when it rolled off the assembly line?

I can't feel sorry for you, as I did the same thing. Bought the car and didn't really know much about it. Immediately had to replace the engine.

As much as that sucked, I'm not complaining about it. Deal with it or sell the car.

its funny i brought a 94 fd for 16,9 expecting the motor to go and to have all sorts of problems with rngine work but my problems are so dumb. a good mechanic an great book and thats all you need (don't forget the cash). right now my only problem is with the belts for the alternator (affecting my battery). a little patience and all these problems that you havre will go away and look little.

For the amout of money you paid for the car this should be expected. You see something low and you jump on it. You really have to know what your looking for and take your time when buying a 7. Everything your listing can be fixed with some work. You say doors are hard to open? Is the handle sticky? in that case spray some WD40 in there (one you take off the back cover plate there should be two holes in it).

You get what you paid for i got my 94 touring for 12k and i had many problems which i had to deal w/ and just dealt w/ em. I love this car way to much to just sell it because of a few problems. Right now i have the some of the same problems you have.

My driver side door doesnt open from the outside.

I need a new battery.

I had the 3k hesitation which was fixed w/ a reground.

Also i am missing the right side wheel well.

I got the car w/ 100k+ miles w/ a rebuilt w/ about 14k on it. Its around 20k miles now. I use my car for daily driving too.

If you say the doors are sticking then are you sure that the car hasn't been in an accident before and the frame is a bit bent? It's just something to think about.

I'm sorry that some of these guys seem to be ragging on you a bit, but you and many others are the poster children for FD owners nowadays -- young and likely bought the car for the wrong reasons.

Stick it out kid, this cars worth it. I bought mine 2 months ago for 11k with 100k miles from some *** stain jerk-off that didn't take care of it. I knew that it was gonna need a lot of care, ****, on the way home I was like, "Please don't give out, please don't give out." Look at me now, the only reliability mod I've done is a boost gauge and if it weren't for the ****-nut previous owner putting in the turbo timer, I'd probably wouldn't have that done either. It's sucks being poor, but hell, this car makes me feel like a million bucks.

I agree with the frame damage comments. I used to have a car dealers license and can tell you when I (and other dealers) are at auctions one quick way to tell if a car has frame damage is to open the doors and check the seal around them, also check sunroofs if they have one.

Sounds to me like you got frame damage bro.

I'd take it to a body shop and have it checked. There is no telling what some half assed body shop did to the under side of that car to get it driveable without really fixing it......believe me it happends ALOT!!!! Recyclers buy wrecked cars for the price of dirt, get them looking good for super cheap then sell them at market pricing doubling thier money. It happends thousands of times a day.

Check it out,
STEPHEN

Don't bring age into this, owning a car like an FD has nothing to do with age and everything to do with maturity. I'm 20, and got my FD for 13k 4 months ago and haven't had a single problem yet, and have had no trouble affording it on the money I make without my parents paying for it for me. So I got a cheap FD. So I'm not old. What does it matter?
