RX-7 Value

Kinda surprised to see how much the value of an FD has gone up since ten years ago when I bought mine.

If you saw my other thread ( https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...my-fd-1139213/ ) mine is a total loss, and I'll be trying to get the other guy's insurance company to realize how much it will actually cost me to replace it.

But I've also go two questions:

1. How much more do we expect values to climb?

2. Are there any other cars that you know of that are going up in value like an RX-7?

I think they'll eventually top out around low 100Ks for an ultra clean, rare model like a '94 CW with a glass sunroof and under 20k miles.

Check out what the Ford Bronco has done in value lately. I'm talking about the full sized boxy ones from the 70s. They're value is climbing fast too.
Smokey and the Bandit Firebirds are blowing up as well.

My 1st car was a Porsche 914. I bought it for 2k, sold it for 1800, and now they're 20k for an OK one.

I just watch values of FDs on BringATrailer. They keep track of each auction so you can reference their past auctions and sale values. record holder is 70K at the moment as far as I know. Don't know what to expect with prices. They were pretty hot last year but it looks like they've settled down a bit. I'm sure they will continue to trend up in price just not sure at what rate.

I watch values there too.

Crazy to think that one that went to $70K was basically my car with less miles on it.

I bought a new base model in like 1972 and paid about $3900 out the door. Those are great little cars.
