hey the pic doesnt work

its not that hard to maintain. If u keep it near stock and maintain it, it will be fine. Rx7s need to get beat once in a while, like unwanted foster children. Haha, ok that was a bad joke.

You should get it.

Hi, welcome to the club!

The rx-7 does require some money, more than other cars might i add. u must maintain it religiously in order to keep it in running healthy condition. It will run fine without blowing up as long as u maintain it well. You must make sure you have all reliability mods done, this will keep ur car on the less prone to blowing up. If you keep it at stock boost, i assure u it won't blow up anytime soon. also, if you do indeed purchase one, make sure you buy a good one, get the boost checked, compression checked, etc...

I would recommend you use the seach tool and look for "reliability", there is a myriad of helpful information that will come up.

btw: MR2 T's are very nice cars, few of my buddies one them =)

If you want to save yourself from a lot of maintenance headaches you will need to spend lots of money upfront on a low mileage (<20Kmi) well maintained FD. Of course some FD's with higher mileage have been well cared for and already have the reliability mods done.

If you buy some of the "cheaper" (under $15K) FD's they will need a lot of work and will drive you nuts.

Just don't buy a FD unless the owner can prove to you that it has been well maintained.
Also have it checked out by the local Rotary shop before you buy it.

And most importantly make sure the FD is not your primary means of transportation. They are certianly capable daily drivers but it is best to have alternate means of transportation so that you don't have to beat up your FD everytime you need to go somewhere. Save the FD for the enjoyable drives where you get a chance to stretch it's legs.

that's just about right as far as prices are concerned and if it was rebuilt only 12k miles ago, I don't think that you will have a problem with it for a while. Rotaries are good for about 60-80k if rebuild right and are taken care of.

BTW: Most rotary guys I have meet will pop their hoods after hard runs to let their cars cool off. If you don't like doing this (every single time), you might wanna choose a different car, its just an example of the many things you must do to upkeep this car. Take care of your car and your car will take care of you!

To quote someone on this messageboard "3rd Gen ownership is somewhere in between Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Paranoid Skitzophrenia..."

Good luck!
