Running Race fuel?
Running Race fuel?
There is this place near me that sells CAM2 race fuel, I think it is 104 octane. If I were to mix this with 93 half and half would this help the power on my car any or just throw it off? It is tuned and I am not runnning high boost so I run on pump gas but just wondering if the race gas would help or not? I would just mix it for some drag runs.
There is no reason to run a higher octane fuel other than to prevent detonation. If you are tuned correctly and not running excessive boost, there is no reason to run race gas. Your car would actually lose a bit of power.
Opinions are mixed when it comes to mixing octanes. I've mixed them plenty of times with no adverse results. I now run just straight 110 whenever I run high boost (20 psi).

Also, you can't run cats with race fuel, and you'll severely compromise the life of a single-wire O2 sensor running race gas. As said, it won't make your car faster, but it will give you a bit of headroom - you can run more boost, leaner mixtures, etc.

Could always run a bit of xylene (117 oct.) or toulene (114 oct.) in your gas too... they are both paint thinners that you can find at your local paint store. Be sure to mix in a lubricating agent (atf, 2-stroke oil, etc) and a cleaning agent (kerosene, mineral spirits, etc) and you will be set.
But like they said above... if you are tuned for 93 octane pump gas, a higher octane will not give you anymore performance... maybe some breathing room like Dale mentioned

CAM2 also sells a 100 octane unleaded fuel, which works with your cat, and at $5.50 a gallon (it's not cheap) is it cheap insurance against popped motors. Plus, it smells like race gas when you're running it:-)
