running the engine without intercooler
maybe a dumb question but....my car has been sitting in my garage for the last 6 months without having been turned over. this concerns me as I want to keep the fluids moving through the engine and just not let the thing vegetate...unfortunately I pulled the intercooler out back then (which is is why I haven't exercised it (brackets on my old RE V mount kit all broke and the radiator is hanging by a thread) so while I figure out which new intercooler to buy (or build...recommendations please!) I was wondering if I could just circumvent the intercooler (with tube or hose) and turn the car over to let it run a bit keeping an eye on the temps of course. Is this OK? will I hurt the motor? I'm at best a basic mechanic and can do a few things but no means an expert. I reinstalled the intake, radiator is still hooked up with fluids....thanks

You can run the car with no intercooler just fine. I've started cars with nothing past the throttle body. The car will start and run fine. Of course it won't have an air filter on the engine so I wouldn't do it while your wife is also in the garage with a power sander.
As far as the intercooler, you could either re-make the brackets or if you're looking for something new the Greddy kit is VERY quality and a straight forward bolt-in.
