Forced Free Time - Fix Your RX-7

Now that many of you have more free time, isn't that great.
Now you can work on your RX-7 that has problems.
Time to get these cars into great shape for this coming summer.

One of the first actions that I took after recovering from AML in 2002 was to take my FD out for an illegal speed run.
This was great and therapeutic for my soul and body.

Think positive, speed cures!

those are the best kinds of speed runs. much more enjoyable in groups...

i recently took advantage of the lack of "non-essential" personnel on the road and did one of these "runs" myself

i have to agree, it does great things for the soul

I'm fortunate to be employed and also able to work from home (I do IT for a living) so I don't have any extra free time, would be nice to have!

Just finished rebuilding an engine for a friend and starting in on another though .

Idk about you guys. But work from home and while having no child care available means super low productivity so working more hours to get the work done. On the positive side is that I've got a partner sitting beside me al day pretending to work on her "laptop" haha.

Sadly the cars still get very little time...

I actually enjoy wfh, multiple 40"+ TVs beats 24" monitors in the office. I keep my door shut, but I can see my little one if I decide to take a small break, plus the lady brings in lunch and coffee

The FD just needs an oil change and wheel swap, I can get to that later lol.

Finished an engine replacement over the winter, and just in time too. All these empty highways have made street tuning a breeze. I'm up to my knees in good datalogs!

Not much more free time than usual because I'm still working, thank God. Still working on getting her all put back together and in the next couple weeks, the engine will be delivered. Just gotta finish up some gauges, fix my broken passenger side OS handle, and throw everything back together when the time comes. Hoping to be done by summer.

Lucky employed here! Been catching-up big time with not having to drive into work and such. I'm stuck installing my downpipe right now, though. My car came with some random downpipe. It seemed nice. Stainless and lightweight. Installing it is a nightmare, though! It simply will not start slipping over the studs, and I have NO wiggle room between the chassis and the exhaust manifold. It just doesn't want to go. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!!

Undo the motor mount nuts from the subframe and pry the motor up and over the a bit until you get the downpipe on the studs.

Thanks!
Where should I Jack the engine from, exactly? My transmission and PPF are all bolted-up.

Yesterday I hand washed the engine compartment and under-hood with a toothbrush and sponge. Had not done that for over 5 years.
Now to attack the interior.

I've been spending more of my "free" time in the garage, as know my wife can't blame me for doing that vs. doing other weekend outings!

These are definitely interesting times. I am doing so many projects on the house we bought about 6 months ago. I am trying to complete any project that requires 0 $ right now as I got furloughed from my job. Next few projects will cost minimal.

My 2 main cars have been detailed including a sealant and wax. Looking brand new. I am very excited about picking up the 7 in a couple days. What better time to break it in and finish the water/meth install. I am stoked. I have the perfect road to take her down. Minimal traffic. I may install a head unit also and finish up the stereo as it is pretty much wired.
interesting times for sure.

I'm in the same boat. My wife is an essential employee and daycare is closed. So, I've been on 24/7 babysitter duty for the last six weeks. I did, however, have 15 minutes to take the RX-7 out of the garage and do a loop of the neighbourhood today.
