IL Running on 93 Octane but PFC tuned for 91

Hello All,

Recently picked up a single turbo FD tuned on a power FC for 91 Octane Gas, this all that was offered in his state. In my state 93 is available everywhere, will there be any harm to run 93. The car is already running very rich. From the research that I've done, it shouldn't cause harm, but I would like to hear from you rotary gurus. Currently, with all this virus **** I can't take the car to be retuned.

Its Safe.
Octane is resistance to ignition, so higher levels than your 91 tune will be safer and more expensive.

I second, you have an additional safety margin if you are running more ocatane.

I agree there shouldn't be any harm running 93 octane. If you're concerned the car isn't running right, there might be more to consider than just fuel octane. I moved from near sea-level to about 3500 feet elevation, and I needed to adjust my car's fuel map by around 5-10% in some places to account for the different atmospheric pressure and humidity. MAP sensor was showing about 99 kPa at sea level and now around 90 kPa at higher altitude.

Well, unfortunately, I am unable to even get the car registered due to all the DMVs being closed. I was only able to drive it 20 miles or so from the pickup location and back home last week, other then that not much more just cleaning her up a bit. Going through the engine bay, I know I will need a retune and would also like to verify the compression. Possible motor rebuild in the NEAR future, but I was expecting that. Got the car for a steal so didn't mind it, everything else on the car is complete. Local shop near by "Elite" but heard lots of bad and good so we will have to see, or just pull the motor and ship it out. I'm gonna go talk with Sal as soon as I can.
Car starts HOT/COLD, Pulls all the way to redline, no smoke. Need to fuel her up before taking her on the road again.

I've recently bought a 95 fd and not to sure what type of fuel it's tuned on.

Any ideas how to figure out exactly what fuel it is? Was imported from Japan. Smells a little like E85 but not 100% sure.

Just drive normal on that tank of gas and fill it up with regular gas in your area. You'll be fine if you're not going full throttle. Also I don't think they use much E85 in Japan, I doubt the car would be tuned for it.

+1 anything other than regular pump gas is really cost prohibitive there, so the majority of those crazy big hp JDM builds are pump gas
