Royal Purple users ...

Anyone notice that their oil pressure is a lot higher using Royal Purple ... got 10W30 here. I'm seeing the oil pressure at 60psi at like 2200 rpm!!! I'm breaking in some new turbos, so I haven't gotten the rpms real far up yet .... but even at 3500rpm, oil pressure is in the 80-100ish range! Any other similar incidents involving Royal Purple???

isn't this normal oil pressure?

Not when I had Redline or Mobil 1 in there. The oil pressure never got over 60psi until maybe 4500 rpm. At lower rpms (1500-2500) with the engine fully warmed up, the oil pressure was somewhere in between 30-45 psi. I've never seen it like this before ...

My oil pressure is higher with Royal Purple than it was with Havoline mineral oil, but I guess that shouldn't be a surprise. It is always high at startup, but the Royal Purple maintains pressure (much) better than the Havoline did.

My oil pressure gauge is acting up (just like everybody else's I'm sure!) but I haven't noticed any major differences in pressure between the RP 10W30 and the previous Valvoline oil. It is certainly not wildly different, and that's really the only information from that gauge that I would trust or pay attention to.

So it's okay then. It had me freaked out that there might be some blockage in the case or in one of the lines causing high oil pressure. I didn't want to blow the carbon seals on these brand new turbos because the oil pressure was too high. Thanks y'all.

I'm not sure the reasoning on this, but whenever I change my oil, the pressure is higher initially. You may notice that as you approach your change interval, the oil pressure will be lower. Anyone else noticing this?
