royal purple oil and detationation inhibitor

i have herd that royal purple oil products have a resistance to detonation built into the oil where a regular oil burns faster and can cause detonation... any thoughts on this

No way in hell motor oil is going to help prevent detonation. Nothing is going to help if your not tuned correctly. The only thing that may help and it arguable is a J&S knock sensor, but even that isn't really going to help. If you ping and the J&S lights up your done anyhow. Back to your question. The answer is hell NO.

you are missing what i am saying. oil burs faster than gas there fore if we are mixing oil and gas in our cumbuston chamber then the oil is buring the fuel at a faster rate than if there was just fuel in the chamber. what i am saying is that royal purple oil products are desinged so that the oil burns at the same rate as the fuel so in a PISTON motor is wil not detonate... i was wondering the truth and if any one has any insight to this who have used royal purple.
