rough shifting
Hey,
My shifting is very rough. When i go from gear to gear it feels kind of clunky and not smooth. I know that pettit sells a shifter "re-knew" kit that includes (supposedly) all you need to "be shifting like new again." Have anyone of you ever used this? DOes it work? Or should i just go for a short-shifter? will the short shifter give me smoother shifting? Thanks alot guys!

Make sure there is enough oil in your transmission. From what I've heard, a short shifter makes things rougher. If the shifter feels sloppy, you might benefit from the kit that pettit sells, but you can get the same parts(s bushing and a few wave washers) for like ten dollars.

Nope, but it only takes, like ten minutes to pull the shifter out of the tranny tunnel. You just go to the Mazda dealer to get the shifter bushing(it's like a little plastic cup that the shifter sits on) and go to a hardware store for the bushings.
