Talking Picked up my 1st FD on Friday

Hey all,

I picked up my 1st TT on Friday. It's a '94 with the popular equipment package, white/tan, with 55,000 miles (100% stock). I picked it up from a dr. that didn't drive it hard at all and, for better or worse, had it serviced religiously at the mazda dealer. The car is very tight and looks brand new but I the is not running our prioperly up top, as if the secondary is not kicking in. It feels like there is a potato in the exhaust.

Anyway it handles sweet and I'm looking forward to dropping it off at Pettit next week to have it gone over, hopefully they can get it running tip top.

Jason

Could be a clogged cat. Though, if the previous owner really never drove it hard at all, the secondary turbo's or injectors could be frozen/stuck a few high speed runs might clear that up

Savor the first few weeks you have it! I would give anything to go back to the time right after I got mine with no previous driving experience with it. Completely knocked my socks off! Anyway, have lots of 'careful' fun!

Congrats man. Can't say that I'm a big fan of the white/tan combo, but hey we can't be picky when it comes to good mileaged FD's now can we?

Hey DJ... I was looking for a black r1 (of course, who isn't) but when I saw the white I had to have it. I prefer the clean look, no wing. And the car is very tight looking. I may add the 99 FD rims later to keep that stock look.

I think the car is starting to loosen up, I can feel the secondary kick in now. The guy that had it before me did not put the car through its paces at all. I look forward to having pettit tune it up, then it should roll. Right now it's feeling a little tame next to my 460 rwhp cobra, but there is no comparison in handing...at all, actually the cobra is now for sale ...

Is that really a beige interior? Looks black to me. Can you post pics of your Cobra for sale? Curious what she looks like too .

she looks beautiful from that pic. ahhh we've converted one more mustang guy. haha, jk. i have some tips, cause i recently bought mine in december.

1. dont spin it in front of your high school and hit a reflector pole (i dont know how old you are)

2. dont park under your freinds basketball hoop, the ones that arent in the ground, cause they blow over onto your FD and **** it up

3. dont park like an ******* just cause you have the hottest car in town, cause a silver durango might hit you and drive away before you can get the plate

maybe you can learn from my foolishness.

black r1 with engine rebulit by japtrix was thrashed? hmm thanks i'll stay away from that one. i've been looking at a 93 montego blue touring package with just under 40k miles on original engine, or a black one with silver powdercoated stock wheels. hopefully i'll get my FD soon but not before i learn more about the car. great find for yourself though.
