rough shifting

When I shift it's not smooth. Do I have to lubricate the shifter? does shifter get it's fluids from either the brake or steering fluid?

Welcome to the club of trannys gone bad. the shifter needs its own oil/brake fluid, just take the shifter apart and you can check to see if your shifter alignment thing (that little plastic ring thing with a nub) is still ok. You can also refill the fluid in there at the same time.

good luck

same deal here.

chnging gears gets tricky as you try not to crunch them. 5th is worse.

I'm planning on putting some thick gear oil in there and seeing how that goes.

Damn! I hope my trans holds up. Every time my car is about to be finished, something else comes up.
