Is this rotor usable?

I am looking at purchasing this rotor and was wondering if it looks usable? The pitting near the apex seal groove worries me as do the nicks by the groove itself. Please let me know what your opinions are.

Drag engine with oversized seals sure. Most wouldnt run it. If you filed the edges it would be fine, as long as it doesnt pinch the seal it would technically be fine as is. I would use that in a personal beater, experimental engine but wouldnt give money for it.

That rotor looks as if it came out of a severely rusted engine, then someone went at it with a wire brush to try to salvage it. It would not even be considered for any of our rebuilds.

Display piece/ paper weight.

^Yeah, you can see the dull finish, and the shiny spots where a powered wire brush has burnished it, trying to clean it up. Its been rusty alright.

The seal groove looks like it would run again with a clean up/deburr, but I would not use it unless someone had a gun to my head.

Too much side clearance in the apex slot will not be good for the apex seal, and it might tweak side-to-side and fracture/split eventually, if the seal groove is worn out or deburred a fraction too wide.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have decided against using this rotor. I was pretty sure it looked unusable but just wanted to make sure.
