Rotor Judge needed!

Hello all.

Just pulled apart my new car that had a blown engine (UGH). Previous owner blew out 2 corner seals and destroyed all the apex seals on the rear.

There is a small gash on one of the rotors and I need some help determining if its junk.

Sorry for the bad pictures. Thanks for the help!!

does the gash have raised edges?
If it does (and it probably does) that is not going to be good for your combustion stroke against the housing and shouldn't be reused.

The main concern is if the apex seal groove is deformed.

The apex seal groove seems as though it has a lip on it. It hella tiny but enough that when i run carb cleaner down the rotor a small amount forms right on the edge before it runs down where the apex seals sit. I assume thats bad!

Run a seal through it and see if it binds. Same with the corner seal.

No problem whatsoever. File it down so there are no high spots above the rest of the rotor. If the apex slots are still okay then you are good to go. IF there's a little nick somewhere on an apex seal slot, you can sometimes touch those up with an ignition file, and sometimes you have to mill for 3mm or replace.

The very small lip at the edges of the apex seal slots is normal.
