rotor housing ?

Hi I was just wondering if there is a way to resurface your housings your self, I have seen people use like 400 grit sand paper to get a better oil holding surface. From the info I have gathered it seems like one of the real benefits of resurfacing is to get a better oil retention surface, so could you use an acid and etch the chrome surface to make it more porous to hold oil for better apex seal lubrication/cooling. I also was reading a mazda tech sheet on the housing and it says that the surface of a new housing is porous and has what I believe is kinda like hone marks to hold oil.
Thanks
Richard
