Exclamation The rotary Gremlin

Maybe I shouldn't be writing this on the day I decide to leave my company, but I am.

I have owned my FD for just over 2 years now. I love the car. Yet, I have not driven it very much and have pretty much completely rebuilt it. It's not a monster, but it's built the way I want it. Can I even say that? You see, it's never made full power. How is that possible you say? Well, there is always something that is holding it back. Weather it be it just decides it won't start and everything is put together right, or it won't make power over 4K RPM's, then it won't do it over 5500 RPM's, or it fouls plugs like they are free, or what about the weird short out when you hit a bump, there's the constant recharging of the battery and when you put in a new one it turns out that doesn't matter anyway. The list goes on and on. If I change a tire, the head lights stop working. I could change the oil, and then the car won't start. Where is this evil little Gremlin that hides in my car. I want to kick his *** in the worst way. Someone you may say the Gremlin is me. I'm not doing something right. I could accept that, if I hadn't had so many different informed rotary guys look at these things as well and still not make since of them. I don't know the technical side of things very well, but I have a strong feel for what goes where and how things should be. I'm very particular, so when something is not working right I hunt it down. Problem being, I'm not getting answers all the time. The suggestions are all things I have tried and worked through. But, there never seems to be and answer or finding to the problem.
I know it sounds like I'm giving up hope. I'm not. I am venting and am very frustrated. I feel like I have a super hot wife that hates sex.

LOL. Thanks guys. I have 2 great rotary shops very close to me. One has spent a lot of "friend" time looking at the car. The other has said they would help when I want to bring it in. My thing is that I want to get things worked out and working without dropping it off at a shop to have them spend the time and my money figuring things out. I know I'm about at that point. But, I still want to do the work. I want to understand it and fix it so I lean the issue.

Owning a 3rd gen is like a glass.. you really have to be on top of your game, constantly checking on it. I feel your pain when i first had mine, it was little things that will break off this amazing car..lol this are the little things that i fixed when i got my car: RX7 GURU's
right speaker board ( voltage regulator somewhat blew??)
driver side door handle ( the spring went loose inside , but easy fix)
passenger side power window switch ( wire came loose, soldered and easy fix)
defroster vent by the dash ( so brittle it just broke off when i hit a bump LMFAO.. $50 bux for this crap.. no way.. i rather spend it on performance parts)
driver side mirror loose.. ( mechanism inside went loose.. probably the age of the car)
passenger headlight wont go up - broken bracket.. easy fix
suspension noises -replaced all , i mean all the bushings lol..
if youre still running stock under the hood, just make sure all your vacuum lines are ok, if possible replace it with silicon vacuum lines, replaced fuel pulsation dampener and lines (to prevent engine fire). and it goes on and on..

most of the people that owns this car is also having problem with the interior pieces.. i guess the way mazda made this back then and it wasnt engineered the way they supposed to be..

As for me i went to single conversion and that eliminated all what i hate about this car.. lol and really loving her now..

If you have a specific problem, you should ask about it. If you just want to complain, your car won't get fixed.

Yes, I'm only complaining. But, my car will get worked out. I have posted now and then when I run into something that I have not been able to get sorted out.
