Rotary extreme sleek headlight install issues

My car has had the headlights and brackets for the RE kit installed since 05, but the housing was never put in. I’m trying to finally remedy this, and when fitting the housing I’ve got about a 1” gap between the housing and the fender.

Everything is a snug as it can be, the brackets fit well, I’ve even tightened the springs as far as they can go. The headlights can’t go any further into the housing.

I’m at a loss on a solution other than cutting into the back of the housing to allow the bracket and headlights to slide further in. Anyone have advice before I break out the Dremel?

On the re-amemiya version you are supposed to cut part of the oem bracket that the headlights mount on. I suspect that you would be required to do the same on this since they are copies of each other

Light Upgrades

if you scroll down to the picture below , it gives a good description about this cut.

Yep, this kit required cutting as well. As far as I can tell the cuts were made and the brackets are installed properly. I’ll give it another look, but I don’t think there isn’t room for the bracket to go deeper.

thanks

view from the side, bracket appears to be properly installed.
