Rotary engine questions

Hello everyone, right now i have a 2003 evo and am looking to get into an rx-7. In my opinion they are one of the best looking cars made. I have a few questions because i know nothing about rotary engines.

Ive seen a lot of rx-7s on here with gt40r and 42r's and im wondering about the lag. Anything bigger than a gt35r would be considered too laggy for street use on an evo.

Ive also seen 20b's and 26b's which from what i found out are 3 and 4 rotors.

The main thing I am curious is about the driveability/reliablity.

How would the driveability be on say a 20b with a gt40r or 42r and how reliable would that be.

Lastly, what would the best setup for power/reliability while still being "streetable"

Thanks guys and gals and nice too meet you all

Two different set-ups really... A gt40 on a 20b would be a tinker toy..streetable...um yeah if you want full boost by like 3500 RPM and make around 600hp...a gt40 on a 13b is a nice combo and is kind like the middle of the road between lag and streetable depends on the porting work done but you can have full boost with a 40r on a 13b by around 4200 and carry it untill around 8200-8500 depending on the level of biuld you ahve done... One thing to consider before you think aobut a 20b is the motor, getting it biult, buying a turbo kit worth putting on it along with engine managment, fuel, IC, clutch. ECT. pretty much everything to support it is going to cost more than your EVO. You can however get a nice 7 and properlly set it up with a gt40r and make around 450 on low boost. Will it be streetable yeah wil it be reliable well that depends on how well you pay attnetion to details. The weakest link will always break when your pushing that much HP...

Before even thinking about a 20B, you should check out a few posts on them:

Chris pretty much says it all. If I had any advice for an EVO owner looking to get into rotaries, take it slow and get used to the 13B before jumping to anything bigger. These cars need constant attention and have no room for "gray area" failure. You can't half *** anything.
