Roof Curves...

I see a small hint of a roof curve like a bubble above each seat, like the roof of a viper but not as extreme.

Is this common to all FD's? Does anyone have a good shot of this on an FD with a sunroof?

Thanks,

~CYD

That's the way the roof was designed. I call it the double bubble.

The double bubble is there for aerodynamics.

Creates just a tad bit more space for a helmet as well.

Why do you think I'm trying to get a racing seat or another set of suede ones so that I rip the butt padding out

Does the FD's with the sunroof not get the double bubble treatment?

I was told once by I don't remember who, that this was an area of drag limitation and as the result of a wind tunnel test, they put this there to reduce the drag...maybe someone can confirm...

It has a double bubble because it has two rotors. Read the last paragraph.

Always thought it was for aerodynamics and to help when you're possible wearing a helmet.
