Exclamation RHD vs LHD hood latch cable

Hi guys, recently i had trouble with a couple of wires under the dash and the hood latch cable burnt and is now out of use... so basically i need a new cable to replace the broken one. My fd is RHD.

I tried getting one through RHDJapan but at first they told me they'd source one and that it could be long since they had to find the part #... finally they never got back to me concerning this... so now I'm wondering if the LHD cable would fit or end up being too short or too long.

Anyone knows if the LHD and RHD hood latch cable is the same?
Thanks

Both FD01-56-720C, you can see the in car bonnet release was designed for cable capture on both R and L variants too.

At $300 for a well used LHD example, being able to use a $50 RHD as a substitute * would be welcomed by many.

Close those hoods gingerly, folks.

(* you can but you have to run the pull cable to somewhere under the RHS glovebox.)

The hood release cable is the same for rhd and lhd. Its the only cable that its the same. The rest are all different

the “rhd” ( i.e from japan)is cheaper by around $20 (because of the exchange rate the last few years) new vs new but then you will have to get it from japan so with shipping and taxes you are better off with one from Mazda USA if you are in the states, unless you buy in bulk. That “300 for a well used one”, I dont know where you get your numbers from

as a side note. The throttle cable, at least for the RHD, has been very recently discontinued so you better stock up while you can. Its a very sensitive cable if you are single turbo as it passes above the turbo

which part of "The hood release cable is the same for rhd and lhd" dont you understand? But what did i expect, you revived a 17 year old thread to offer a response with the wrong information.
I am not sure if you read it right, it is for the release cable only...

but for $200 you can get 4. Here are some links

And these are from MAZDA USA...

and if you want to get them from japan,
here is one of your options

and how do i know this? I ordered ALL the cables in multiple quantities because now if they discontinued the one, the rest will also be discontinued. i have melted MANY hood release and throttle cables and i replace them VERY OFTEN. i bought from the US and from Japan and the part number is the same
