revving problem
revving problem
I have a 1993 stock motor and ecu. Motor starts and runs i have put new spark plugs, coils, new fuel filter, new fuel pump and boost gauge. The engine starts and idles normally but if you try to rev quickly as soon as there is any boost the motor will die out but if u rev the motor slowly and no boost it will revv all the way to redline. I'm not sure if secondaries are ok or if they r firing. What logic does stock ecu use to fire secondary injectors? All testing in neutral parked in driveway
No wideband stock fuel pump setup i have boost gauge and watch it go from vacuum to boost and as soon as it get to zero it dies out. There is a check engine light but when i put jumper from TEN to GND the light only flashes once which has no meaning in any of the codes i am currently waiting for new boost sensor to try
take it to a n auto parts store and Check the CEL it may be running in limp mode also JUST FOR SAFETY REASONS , I'd Add some 2 cycle oil into the gas tank . about .5-1 oz per gallon , your oil metering pump may be bad and its causing you to go into limp mode . ( I've never been on limpmode as I've never driven on the stock ecu ) But I've read a couple of threads with similar symptoms and they continuously lead to OMP problems
It's unlikely that you'll use the secondaries free revving. When I setup primary injectors for tuning I try to get the best response from them with different settings. This can sometimes cause the arbitrary base fuel mapping I have to go lean and have the same problem you describe where it doesn't want to rev. I would be that if you put a wide-band sensor in you would see a lean condition.
A PFC with a commander would make quick diagnosis of this by reading the factory O2 sensor voltage. Yet all is not lost, if you probe the 02 sensor and compare specs to the FSM you could see whats going on.
You might want to bring it by a shop to check it out. It could be a fuel filter that's clogged or one fo the primary injectors. Goodluck!

Is your map sensor plugged in? Because you replaced the coils, it is possible you disturbed the vacuum line to it. Do you have silicone lines? If not I would do that ASAP!
Nope plenty of vacuum on the and i unplug the electrical connector from the sensor and it runs the same. Everything is stock on the original motor but the car sat for not ten years in a wrecking yard aftrr being crashed no damage to motor or motor wiring harness. This problem has been present since we got it started also had to replace all ignition coils

* Trigger wheel. Make sure it's not bent.
* CAS connectors. Make sure they didn't get swapped.
* Coil connectors. Make sure you have the correct connectors on the correct coils.
* Ground locations. Make sure all the grounding locations are secure.
