Well, that definitely sounds intriguing... Is there anywhere I can find a writeup or further information on this job? Seems like it might be a good idea to do the vacuum hose job at the same time... Would this be covered in the service manual? Where can I pick up one of those?

FSM has all the info you need. Although, I think there was a thread or two pertaining to info on removing the LIM. You may want to search for that...

Anyway, page F-91 of the FSM shows turbocharger removal. Page F-76 shows the intake system removal. You can download the manual from www.iluvmyrx7.com (although it seems to be down right now), but I would highly recommend getting a hard copy. You can buy one from Ray Crowe at Malloy (1-888-533-3400).

Be advised: this is definitely a very involved task (requires removal of a lot of things). Plus, if you've never worked on the exhaust before, then certain bolts (such as DP, and turbo bolts) will be a pain to get off. Get the right tools, take your time, and use lots of PB Blaster. Again, make sure that you can live with your car being unusable for the next 2-3 weeks (assuming you're only working on it on the weekends).

Also, this would be a good time to do the vacuum hose job, if you are willing to tackle that as well. You'll probably add another weekend's worth of labor though.

Good luck, let me know if you need further help

-Rob

Its not a vacumn leak, its your idle air control. At about 60k they tend to go back. Pretty soon you will see the car when sitting at an idle drop to 700 rpm like it wants to stall then come back. Its not a problem, just a little annoying. And it will stop also when you come to a complete stop. They are about 500$ new from mazda so i said **** it.

I'm almost certain that you are right on that one. I had a air leak in my intake manifold. I tried replacing the gasket, thread bolts you name it, due to the exact symtoms you discribed. Got a new intake manifold (greddy) everything is peachy!
