it has 26k miles on it
reset and it and it threw the same code 13 pressure sensor
gonna try and trace the wires from the map sensor to the ecu tomorrow.
one question- it used to have an after market alarm system that was only half way ripped out could that have anything to do with the problems

Atkins Rotary is close by, not sure if they just sell parts or if they work on them.
26k miles on it and it was sitting in a field.........you lucky f'r! lol
If it were mine, I'd pull off the the top intake, replace vaccuum lines and make sure they are all secured to where they need to be. Check all wiring relating to the TPS as rats/mice may have nibbled on them or what the other poster had said about the sensor.
The alarm shouldn't have anything to do with it running past 4k RPMs...especially an old one from 11 years ago.
Call a friend with a camera and tell them to take a pic for ya. Curious to see the condition of everything.

Sounds like a bad coil. Not sure if it is the leading, trailing or both? It will idle but as soon as you step on the gas, it will sputter, pop and puff out black and blue smoke out the exhaust.
Happened to a buddy of mine a long long x ago.

Remember that the car was sitting for 11 years !!
OP. Mind me asking how much did you get it for?
And i hope you didnt throw away the wing since it goes with the rest of the body kit. Specially if its the real deal
There could be a buyer somewhere for it Itll help you get more funds to bring this one back to life

was curious if clogged catts could cause this problem to happen and to throw this code??
talked to someone earlier today who said they were throwing the same code/problems in their mustang and it ended up being bad catts.

The fuel pump comment got me thinking. I don't know the system that well, but I do know that the pump kicks in higher for when you're accelerating (this is probably not exact, but I do know it kicks in and puts out more fuel at some point haha), but I'm not sure if it still applies if there is no load and it's just sitting there. Also, check to see what voltage you're getting at the fuel pump. I doubt it has much if anything to do with your current problem, but it's one you'll face eventually.
When someone said jump the fuel pump, he was talking about in the diagnostic box under the hood. It's on the driver's side in the engine bay, a little black box near the strut tower that says diagnostic on the top. Use a piece of safety wire or a paper clip and jump from GND to FPM or something like that, it's only a couple spots away. Look on the inside of the lid for the location. Then turn your key forward and the pump will push fuel until you turn the key off or take out the jumper wire. I think he was saying leave that wire in there and press on the pedal and see what happens. I could be wrong though.
The bad coil sounds plausible too.
Have you traced the Map sensor wires yet?
Good luck with this, I'm excited to see this get off the ground. I'm also curious how much you got it for haha.

See! now that is going to make everyone want to know how much you got it for even more now
Not too long ago, another member here found a CYM one in some older people's garage that had been sitting for a long time too, that one day just stopped running and they didnt know why, and ended up being just flooded
