Revert back to stock ECU from PFC

I am thinking about having the the PFC removed, would the stock ECU causes any adverse effect on how the car will run?

Mods: catback, downpipe, intercooler; intakes.

First, you're borderline for what the stock ECU can safely control. You need to be sure to keep boost solid at 10psi, no spiking, or you could have major problems.

Second, you'd need to make sure the 4 wires that are cut on a PFC install are re-attached. Otherwise the ECU will throw a code and probably light the Check Engine light. You might also have to re-tweak the idle settings.

Yep, sound like more trouble than worth the labor. I am sure the buyer would rather have the PFC with the car instead stock ECU.

Thanks.

If you're "de-modding" the car for sale, might be worth getting a used chipped ECU. That will give some extra fuel and a better map for the mods but still be cheaper than the PFC.

I got one a while back for a project car for like $150.

Also, to go that route, most of the emissions and stuff should still be there. If the air pump is removed, the idle will be rough and on/off throttle will be rough with a stock or chipped ECU. No way around that besides the PFC.

As long as you have the main cat installed still you should be okay, but I wouldn't recommend it. As DaleClark said, make sure you don't boost any more than 10 lbs.
I have the same mods + porting with the stock ecu and haven't had any boost troubles yet... but I am, with out a doubt upgrading this summer.

As for idle issues, I have all emissions removed (retained the IAC) except for the cat (I know, it needs to go!) and the idle and transitions are very smooth. It does sound like it's been bridge ported until it warms up, but it idles on it's own without me interfering.

you know that whoever comes by to test drive it will push the car hard. If you're borderline, then you might want to consider this before letting anyone drive it.

About 2 psi of boost were gain from the Racing Beat catback which I plan to revert back to stock. Only the downpipe, intakes, boost/temp gauges stay.

In my opinion the next buyer should seriously consider having the PFC and have the stock ECU as spare. The PFC is so beneficial to have.

The car is a blast as it sit, but price is lower without the mods and wheels setup.

Thanks for chiming in...
