Wideband o2 bung placement

I just machined a wideband O2 bung for my HKS 3 inch downpipe and need to cut a hole and weld it in, I'm just wondering where people have placed there wideband sensor where it will fit without interference. If anybody has a picture or two that would help out alot too. Thanks

Back end of the downpipe (after it goes parallel to the ground) seems to be popular. It has to be before the cat, but shouldn't be so close to the turbo outlets that you're constantly burning up sensors.

That being said, I'm pretty sure that this has been well covered and you should have searched. Stand by for more people telling you that.

I put mine in as far as the Innovate cable would reach.

Which is down next the tranny. It is mounted at about 10 o'clock position if looking from the end of the downpipe.

Lots of room there too. I used the Innovate setup with the heat sink they sell, and replaced the copper washer with 4" x 4" piece of copper as additional heat sink.

No problems in 3 years.

go to the innovative website and download the manual for the lc-1 wideband (i'm sure that their other widebands are the same) and read through it, there is a section describing the best mounting location. for us, probably on the rear end of the downpipe on the top.
