Same brand and all??? They dont look thaaatttt bad. I mean it is kinda ricey but you get the whole late model VW gauge light look. I was thinking about blackcatcustom.com to get some custom white faced gauges that have similar lighting to the late model VWs. If I had money to blow I would give them a try. I would probably also have to see the actual FD gauges lit up and not some honda piece demo.

I just bought a pair and I am about to attempt to put them on. I got mine for 25 bucks with lights so I don't really care if they are shitty.

hey the link wouldn't work but i think i know which one's your talking about. i installed them on my car. they actually look really clean. and they match my white boost and water temp gauges. but they're not very bright at night. and some of the background lights from the oem gauges comes through, so i guess the best thing would be to remove the bulbs from the gauge. anyways, good luck. wish i had a digital camera to post pics.

The link doesn't work because it's about a year old.

To answer your question. Replacing any guage face will require removing the needles (for all the ones I've eever done or seen anyway) and recalibration.
Also you need to remove the old faces.
Most also require some minor fitting such as gluing down the tach guage face so i won't wont bind the needle.

you cant use super glue on those, it will melt the plastic in back of the gauge and not stick (how do i know, cuz i tried already hahaha) oh yeah, double sided sticky tape does not work either, it bumps it up too high and the needle will catch on the face (I tired this too). I have a set of these and think they look pretty damn spiffy (I likey). Also you dont need to take off needlesm they simply slide over the stockers. I really like the one from procarparts.com, thats where i got mines. the one from ebay needs to be drilled (or in my case, when i installed a friends one, i had to use a friggen paperclip+flame) to make holes in the water temp, oilpressuer and fuel gauge one. btw, procarparts.com was the cheapest place to get them although the silver ones were a bit more expensive. I got hte white face gague and with shipping to hawaii, it was only about 35 bucks. it came pretty fast as well.
