Rev Limiter Stopped Functioning Properly
So my rev limiter stopped working one day after i changed a couple things on my car. I switched to the Axiom/AzeKnight solenoid kit, went simplified sequential, and changed to 10mm plug wires. Well afterwards the two step and rev limiter both quit working right. Where it use to do the ignition cut and pop loudly and drop a sufficient amount of rpms at 6100 and 8100 rpms, it now just kinda stalls the rev, but the rpms keep slowly pushing through where the limiters should be. I can make it work, but it requires retarding the timing on the powerfc to like -13 or more which i dont really think is safe. Anybody have any ideas?
So the engine will slowly rev through the 2-step? Will it rev through the limiter as well? If the 2-step unit doesn't override the PFC limiter, try lowering the PFC to 5000 and see if that stops the revs. If the PFC stops, you know you have a problem with the aftermarket unit. If it doesn't, you've got an issue somewhere and I have no idea where to point you for that. Maybe tach signal?
Is you're Power FC the old "Pro" version? AFAIK, that's the only PFC that had the provision for 2-step. I just assumed it was aftermarket ignition with a 2-step because there's hardly any Pro's floating around anymore.
In the process of changing things, you might have zapped the ECU and killed that board for the 2-step and connection for the limiter. They should be tied in together as they function the same. I'm pretty sure the 2 step is a separate board that was soldered to the main board. Have you tried turning off the 2 step and lowering the limiter? Does everything else seem to work? You could crack open the PFC case and peak inside to see if there's any burnt areas.
Try posting this up in the PFC section as well. See if you can't find one or two of the PFC gurus to chime in.

Yeah its the pro version. I highly doubt i zapped anything because i always disconnect the battery first before i touch anything. I posted it in the PowerFC forum a long time ago, but they all just refer me to the yahoo group where you have to pay like $60 a year or some **** like that. I did try lowering the main rev limiter and turning the 2 step above it, but it does the same thing. And if i fried the board in the powerfc the two step wouldnt work correctly when i retard the timing would it?

Lol well theres one in my car haha. I love it too. Built in 2 step and does ignition cut instead of fuel cut for both limiters so less chance of running lean and going boom at high rpms between shifts.
