Retune after a rebuild?

I have a PFC on my car, and recently had it professionally tuned on a dyno. 10psi, asked for a conservative tune for road courses. ~280whp was the result. Very shortly after the coolant seals gave up and i needed a rebuild.

My question is, will I need another tune after the break-in? SHOULD I get one? Compression was low 80s before the tune, I assume it's higher now.

Mods are:
PFC
Greddy profec IIb EBC
Nonsequential stock twins
Koyo radiator
Greddy SMIC
Airinx intakes
Downpipe
Highflow cat
Catback

...think that's it for the engine. '93 R1.

Do you have a wideband o2 sensor?

Check the AFR, do a quick log and see where you are at...ease into boost while watching the AFR. If everything looks good then I see no reason why to retune.

Compression is likely not going to be much higher immediately after a fresh rebuild anyhow; maybe so if you had replaced your housings.

Alot of this weighs on how your AFR was set. If your tuner kept you in the 10's, you have plenty of margin. If you're pushing 12:1 then you'd definitely consider a retune. Timing should remain the same.

if you didn't make any changes to the motor, then you should be ok! I would just do a dyno pull and check A/F

I have a PLX WB probe installed and I need to finish hooking it up to the actual control unit and Speedhut gauge. Stupid question: Once I've done that, what should I do and what should I be looking for on the gauge?

Crazy to invest on a new core and not pay the extra for a tune. One thing these cars will bite you in the *** every time you try to cut corners . IMO

safety under boost aside, the changes in friction and compression will probably affect part load/idle air and fuel tuning.

Should I ask who did your tune and then rebuild?

I dunno, you tell me, should you? Two experienced mid-atlantic rotary shops.

Perhaps... I've had experience with most of the mid-Atlantic rotary shops "near" you. Some good, some bad... Some indicative of one, others of the other...
