Retarded question but I just gotta know... Brake line clips

Hey guys, real quick. I purchased a brake line kit from rx7store and the fitment isn't quite right as far as the clips go.

The front lines wont clip into the middle point bracket attached to the shocks because the thing thats supposed slide into the hex bracket is actually a cylinder.

My rear brake lines wont clip into the the top connection cause there isn't enough clearance for the clip to slide into.

So the question is... How imperative is it for those clips to go in? Do they affect braking or are they just for securing the lines/keep them in place?

I'm already sourcing new lines, but I'm curious because if clipping them in is pretty important, I'd be surprised that rx7store would sell them. Maybe I got a bad batch?

The clips can be a tight fit but they should fit. Make sure you have them lined up properly.

They are very important!! If that brake line isn't secured properly it could rub on a part until it breaks through the brake line.

If you look closely at the brackets there are two layers of metal where the fitting inserts. The bracket will unbolt from the car and at the bench I had remove one layer with a cutting wheel for the proper depth so the clip would go in and with the right amount of tension. Some black paint and back on the car. Took maybe 10 minutes a corner. Had to do the same for the clutch slave line too but used silver paint.
Mine weren't rx7store, so they all may be that way. It's your brakes...properly securing them is important.
