That's BS! Someone should flag his listing as false advertising and report it to ebay!

 

To tell you the truth on one hand he is false advertising, but on the other hand I bought a pair from someone on ebay if not him, and they came in brembo boxes. I needed rotors at the time and to tell you the truth I know they are stock size so whether they made by brembo or made by another company I couldn't really care. It doesn't make a big difference to me if they are drilled/slotted by brembo or some machince shop did it. They are still cross drilled/slotted rotors and they still seem to work fine for me. What I paid was a $140.00/pair, and $140.00 for a pair is a steal, when rx7.com wants 180.00?? I believe for a pair of stockers. How could I have went wrong?? Not trying to flame, just trying to give my adivce that I would have still bought them if they wouldn't have said brembo on them.

 

My rotors have Brembo stamped on em, but powerstop actually cut the slots on em.

 

It's really not false advertising unless he states that Brembo did the drilling and slotting.

They are "cross drilled/slotted Brembo rotors"

Basically it all depends on how he words it. I haven't looked at the auction so he may be falsely advertising. They're alot of loopholes in the law when it comes to this.

 

They are brembo rotors that have been slotted and drilled. It is actually a good deal. They have simply been modified, just like when people polish intakes, port engines, etc. Does anyone assume mazda ported the engine when they have the work done?

I have them and the rotors are fine.

 

I dont mind the slotted one as much..but drilled after the fact ??
I'd much rather have something cast with holes...not drilled..Let us know if you ever track the car and if the holes develop cracks...this would be my only issue

 

I am sorry but I find this entire ordeal about false advertising by the guy on eBay a bunch of BS. Most Rotors that are drilled or slotted are done so in the same manner. Weather or not Brembo did it has little impact on the product if you ask me unless the shop that did do it doesn't do things evenly. I mean come on... can you think of a way that Brembo could do a better job than a 3rd party just because they made the rotors? The only way to do a better job is to cast the holes and/or slots directly in to the rotor and very few places do that. You will be paying a heck of a lot more too. Bottom line is that it's the same with all low cost rotors like Brembo, Power Slot/Stop and so on. If you aren't happy with the rotors on eBay then you shouldn't be happy with any drilled or slotted product! I think the product the guy is selling is exactly as advertised and as he said it is implied. If you call places like Best Price Rotor and ask who made the rotor they will tell you that most rotors come to them w/o coatings or slots/holes. They do that. The important question to ask is if they take the slots to the edge of the rotor. If they do don't buy theirs because this promotes warping. The slot should stop about 2 or 3 mm before the edge, or at least this is what I have heard.

 

I'm with Dis1 on this, I have the Brembo's up front and Ikodus in the rear and they are a quality product. The slotting ends before the edge and the holes are drilled evenly and well spread out. If you look at most drilled rotors they look like swiss cheese these are a much more spread out pattern so I doubt if they are weakened very much. They have performed very well, as good or better than the stock ones and have no evidence of warping or cracking so far. They are mainly for looks, if you really want to seriously upgrade the braking then go with a big brake kit. My $.02

I don't know who it was that started this thread, or who it was that started complaining on the Forum about the Brembos on ebay. I looked at a current listing on ebay selling Brembos for RX7s and there appears to be full disclosure that the drilling was done by someone other than Brembo. Take a look for yourself:

So if there was a past problem about less than full disclosure, it appears that the problem has been solved with at least one Brembo ebay seller.

 

Finally it states how they are drilled and slotted and not "implied"


I felt it was a major oversight or ommission
