Replacing oem tach with aftermarket??

Is it possible to replace the oem tach with an aftermarket one? if so how? Thanks

what's wrong with the OEM one? your motor wants to rev pasted 9k?

Honestly, go with OEM tach. It would look kinda tacky to have mis-matched gauges. You can find them for sale on the forum.

I was going to put a Defi tach with the shift lights and to match I have the NR white gauge faces. The only problem is the other gauges are amber. I then talked with black cat customs and they can do gauge covers in green to match. You would loose the beep but with a PFC that is allready lost. I never measured the OEM gauge to see if they had a matching size. Post pics if you do the project, i'd like to see it.

You can always go w/ another OEM cluster, same model or 99spec... or even Spirit R. And there are also Mazdaspeed, RE Amemiya, FEED, and Knightsports clusters too, all for about the price of a new tach from Mazda lol.
