Replacing Hatch Hinges

I did a search for this and found surprisingly little.

I will be replacing my squeaky hatch hinges with the recall hinges this weekend and am wondering if there is anything peculiar about removing the hatch beyond the FSM instructions. Will I be able to do one hinge at a time without removing the entire hatch from the car? I will have a buddy to hold it.

I can't help you with the hinges ............. but:

If you choose to remove the hatch struts, you will have to remove the plastic liner around them. Not as easy as it sounds. You have to remove a bunch of other stuff first. I suggest that you try to change the hinges without removing the struts. Changing them one at a time would probably be best.

Good luck, Adam

It is possible to change one at a time and you really don't have to take that many things off to get to the mounting positions. Not terrible difficult, it's kind of self explanitary once you get started. Good luck w/ it.

They don't come from the factory that way. You better ask Adam C though as I wouldn't want to give out any bad information (-:
