Replaced all vacuum lines, couple of questions.

Well I went ahead and replaced all the vacuum lines last night with silicon. Well I have a couple questions in regard to a couple lines and a solenoid valve. The double throttle control solenoid had broken nipples so I just left it out and left the hardlines where the vacuum lines go open. I also went ahead and capped the uim nipples on the front of the manifold. One on the actuator for the double throttle control and the other on the front of the upper intake manifold so there are no vacuum leaks. I was curious if having the double throttle control solenoid removed and capped off at the uim affected the boost in any way? Im trying to eliminate things one by one since I bought the car and its never seen boost since ive owned it. Also, there is another hardline nipple by the turbo that is open. I was curious if this is supposed to be open since I was thinking maybe it has to do with automatic transmission but am not sure. I will get pics of that line later. If anyone can give me answers to the double throttle question and whether it affects boost I would greatly appreciate it since ive searched all night and have found no definitive answer. Thanks.

I don't think the double throttle has any relation to boost at all.

There is a cap shown on the 'tree' behind the air pump, but if it's gone I don't think it would do much. I would cap it, but it won't solve your boost problem.

Did you remove the solenoids and test them while things were apart? What is your boost pattern?

Well I didnt have a chance to test the solenoids since I was in a rush to finish since I had to go to work the next day and this is my daily driver. Unfortunately I do not have a boost gauge so I cannot accurately review my boost patterns. I know for a fact that one of the nipples on the wastegate control solenoid valve is broken off so I am going to get a replacement today and install it. So for sure I know thats my #1 problem with boost but I was curious about the open nipple by the turbos that you mentioned and if the double throttle made a difference which you stated it shouldnt. I will get a pic up here in the next hour or so of the nipple I am referring to next to the turbos. Thanks alot dgeesaman.

Ok here are the pics of the vacuum nipple that is just open. Heres a little description of the location of the nipple. Its underneath the air pump to the right. You can see the airpump in the pic. So what is this nipple supposed to go to?

That's part of the PCV. It should connect right alongside of the other hose there on the inlet elbow, but it appears that nipple is missing/patched/broken.

You could connect it to the capped nipple on the adjacent hose, which may be why the tee is inserted there. The tee is not part of the factory configuration.

In either case it's only for the PCV. Not a boost-related issue.
