$75, send them your seat belt assembly and get all new webbing installed and tested. This would be great for faded black or tan seat belts - go to a new OEM black, or change color to red, yellow, etc.
Also, I know a lot of seat belts retract slow - a lot of that is from the mechanisms being dirty and the webbing being stiff and dirty.
No affiliation, just saw this and thought this would help a lot of FD's. I bought a low-mileage set of JDM black seat belts for a good amount of money a while back, I've been happy with them but it would be great to replace with new.
Thats awesome. My tan ones looked pretty grimy when I got the car, but fortunately they cleaned up pretty well with just some basic cleaning. I might consider this down the road though since I did the carpet and the seats already.
Now find somewhere to replace the factory airbag(s) with something new
I had them done by Safety Restore about a year ago now. Did the re-webbing primarily to change the color. The first set that came back was VERY poor quality in regards to the stitching.... Stitching was crooked and loose with excess thread hanging out. The original tag was sewn back in half on the belt / half hanging off. It was obvious that they have a machine do certain parts of the webbing and other parts are done manually. Essentially all the manual stitching was of very poor quality.
I did reach out to them about it and they were apologetic and had me send it back to make it right. The second attempt was much better.
Good to know! I like how the final product looks in your car.
Also, I saw a video a while back about seat belts that are slow to retract. A lot of it is the belts themselves are just dirty, especially the parts that normally touch you, and it makes the belt less flexible and it doesn't wind back as well. Dude pulled the belt out as far as he could and used a clip to hold it out, then soaked the belt in a bucket of mild detergent and warm water. Dried and way better.
