I remember the primarys being pretty hard to get to. the rats nest is only held in by 3 bolts but it is a lot of wires and hoses.

there is no other easy way other than removing it completely. You can go ahead and replace all your lines with silicone while its out

^^^^^ from the shininess of the hoses I'd assume they're silicone or viton already.

Yeah there no easy way through. Enjoy.

You don't need to remove it, although it makes it a LOT easier. Take out the coils, then undo the bolts that hold the rack down to the engine. Once those are undone, the rack will be loose and you'll be able to pull the rack a few inches out of the way.

That'll be enough space to pull the primary injectors and access the secondary fuel rail to remove the stock FPR and install the Sard adaptor? I can't imagine trying to pull that off without everything out of the way.

is it comon/better to just take out the rats nest and replace the coolant/fuel lines with rubber or steel ones?

Sure, I did it when fixing my fuel leak issues:

Like I mentioned, it makes things easier just to take out the rack completely; but it can be done with the rack just unbolted.

Leave those alone. Undo the bolts that hold the entire rack to the motor. They are under where the coil sit.

If the fuel lines are still attached, the rack movement will be limited as the fuel lines will not move much while your fuel rails are still bolted in place. Once you have the rack loose, you should be able to get pry it back to get access to the bolts holding down the primary fuel rail. Undo the secondary rail first, then go for the primary.

Oh, you still have the ACV. You'll have to remove that out of the way.
