Removed the Air pump, idle vacuum dropped

I knew it probably would since in the past I could hold my thumb over the inlet to the airpump (that gets filtered air) and it would effect the idle vacuum. Previously my idle vacuum at 760 rpms was -455mmhg. After the air pump removal, at the same rpm, it was -435mmhg. Anyone else experience this drop in idle vacuum when they removed their air pump?

my old pump broke, so I unplugged it for a few weeks before I got another. My vaccuum went from about -435 mmhg to about -380 mmhg. I put a new pump on and my vacuum went right back up. I wonder if it has something to do with the ACV. I think to "properly" remove the airpump you have to remove the acv as well (someone please correct me if I'm wrong here ).
