Removed air conditioner last night....
Well I ran up to the local tire place that a friend works at and he drained my freon or whatever is in the air conditioner system. Drove it back home and started to work. All done in less than 3 hours but I have a question: I thought the line that runs in a 'S' pattern in front of the radiator was part of the AC but evidently not. What does that go to?
Thanks,
Bryan

No need for it. I never, EVAR, use it. Plus I thought it would give the raidator some more air, shave a few pounds, and give me something to tinker with

Thanks for clearing that up for me

Do you want to sell some parts of your A/C System? The previous owner of my car took it out and I live in the freakin New Mexico Desert. I can't make it through the summer with no A/C out here. Let me know.

you dont need power steering either.. chuck that bitch out! I love the way the car feels without it, although parking can be a pain sometimes, but other than that it feels nice.

I've done that. I broke the belt about a year ago, and just left it off.
I was going to Dunkin Donuts when a Firechicken came up behind me and tried to pass(where there really wasn't a lane), so I hammered it, took care of him, and proceeded to nearly mow down all the shrubs in front of D&D, because my belt broke and it made turning unexpectedly more difficult.
I totally noticed that the car felt peppier without the belt. The steering feels great when you're moving, but can make you look like an ***, when trying to parallel park in a hurry in the city. The only question I had was how well it would perform at an autocross, as a lot of the turns are at lower speeds, and are tight.

Its not really worth it to remove the ABS. It helps so much in stopping distance, heck the viper didn't have ABS for so long but they realized that the crappy stopping distances that it was pulling could be greatly improved by adding it so now its there. I would leave it personally.
I do some autox now and I was wondering the same thing. Glassman does a lot of autox and I know he has his PS removed. I might do it....

I though the coolest thing about removing the ABS was the access to the turbos, particularly a single. It's right there. I friend of mine is building a full blown racecar, and he removed everything , and there's just so much room in the engine bay, that it made me think about doing the same thing. I'm going single next year, and I would love to be able to look at the object that I just dropped $5,000 on. It would make switching turbo's(because I know i'll blow mine eventually, as I break everything) kind of like playing with Lego's. Unbolt.....bolt back.
I will wait to see how his car performs before I remove mine though.

yeah, who needs the power steering other then to not look like an *** when trying to parallel park in a hurry?!!
i figured i would just loop a belt around my ac and main drive and cut the middle man out, right? there i go not thinking things through, there is no tensioner pulley, so i could not put a belt on with out it being so tight that it would just kill the bearings of the ac pulley...
good job rajeev
